Brenda's Photo Challenge

Once again it is Brenda's Photo challenge and the theme is Freedom. So click above and take a look at what others have come up with and join us as we explore different topics.
I had to go through my archives because of the want to's didn't match the time to do's.
Thanks to my husband for this one as he said, " Why not use some of those pictures you took of the Alamo. What symbolizes freedom more than the Alamo? We were priveledged last summer to have a private tour with a historian as our guide. So many tidbits that we'd never have found on our own had we just visited the site. Of course we did a little research on our own when we were home. Wow! what a story. It stopped and made me think, what would I fight so gallantly for?

  1. Love the Alamo!! My (4th removed) Uncle (John Wornell) was the one that carried the message from the Alamo to General Sam Houston asking for more troops...His name is on the plack...He was shot in the leg as he was riding away from the Alamo and died 2 months later, but he got the message out though...too late.
    Great shots!
    Hapy Weekend!

  3. Those are really nice shots of the Alamo. I like some of the angles of them. Many, many years ago I had a conference in San Antonio and stayed in the hotel right next to The Alamo. Can you believe that I never even went to see it? I could kick myself now!

  4. Gorgeous shots of the Alamo! I saw it in 2007 and was amazed ... I had always pictured it out in the middle of a desert, LOL! To think it was sitting in downtown San Antonio, so small and amazing, the whole time. Happy Fourth!

  7. I remember the movie and how brave I thought the soldiers were. Your photos are so beautiful and peaceful. Hard to believe such a battle was fought there. Everything seemed bigger with violence of war.

  8. Great pictures! Love that place! I was surprised at how small it was. Thought it would be much bigger. They have some incredible artifacts there too from what I remember.

  9. Great shots of the Alamo. I was there when I was a kid, I doubt that I appreciated it's significance at the time. I would love to go back and visit again.
